I think Radishes are a little misunderstood and overseen. I must admit I didn’t get to really know them until my early thirties. While visiting Farmer’s Markets in Louisiana in the late fall and winter, these mundane pieces of roots are far less than mundane once you cut them open.
The colors immediately make you fall in love with them! But what to do with radishes? The most simple way is to use them as a garnish, they’ll make any dish look gorgeous. My favorite way is to roast them with some olive oil, sea salt & cracked peppercorns. And if you’re a pickle lover like myself, these are some of the easiest and versatile foods to pickle.
Roasted veggies are exactly what we crave in colder months and root veggies, like radishes, are allies for our root chakra as they help us to energetically ground.
